Gallery: John Player Special Calendar by world-famous photographer Weren Bokelberg. At one time, this calendar was no less popular than the famous Pirelli. In 1980, the photographer created a large series of black and white photographs of famous models for him, taking them from the back.

Werner Bokelberg is one of the leading German photojournalists of the 1960s and 70s. His work has been innovative and inspiring. He took his photographs with a fundamental conviction:

“Each eye develops its own beauty… Beauty develops during the act of visual perception, when a person looks at it, and it is something not constrained by time or perspective.”
