“The Thaw”: Photographs by Vladimir Lagrange. In 1960s Lagrange witnessed and documented Russia’s Soviet era period without embellishment. He wrote:

“My goal was to introduce the reader to the work of metallurgists, pilots, miners, doctors, farmers … their lives, and to do so in an extremely truthful manner.”
